To Whom It May Concern:

A few months ago we received a phone call that would change our lives considerably.   My husband suffers from Cardio Myopathy, Atrial and Ventricle Fibrillation.  With this diagnosis we were left feeling that there was nothing we could do, so basically like many others sat back and waited for the inevitable.  The only thing that we had going for us for many months was the swimming pool, which seemed to help out, while it was in operation.  When the pool closed down at the end of the summer, we looked for other avenues, for example, a nearby indoor swimming pool, which our budget would not allow a membership and therapy, which Medicaid refused to help us out with.  So, with those closed off to us, we stopped looking.  Michael got weaker because of it.

A few months ago an Angel called us on the phone, and wanted to come over and check things out with us.  At first we were apprehensive; we had no idea what she wanted.  This Angel came to our home, and opened doors that we thought were closed to us.  She taught us that we can help ourselves with a push in the right direction.  We were given back our enthusiasm and most of all we were given back Michael’s life!

Ashley set goals for us to achieve, we managed to get most of the goals set within a couple of weeks.  We received weekly phone calls from Ashley, congratulating us on what we had done, we felt like we had our own personal cheering section!  The goals set out for us were many and as of now we have achieved all of them.

Ashley set aside a day that she would go to a Doctor’s appointment with us.  Talk about a confidence booster, we were able to get everything we needed that day.  She did not have to say a word, but with her presence there I was confident enough to ask for the things I needed for my husbands welfare.

We were also pointed in another direction, group support.  This has been a wonderful experience.  It is so nice to know that there are others out there and that we are not alone in our sadness and our happiness.

This program has been a Godsend to us, and we appreciate the directions in which we were led.  If it was not for this program, I do not know where we would be.  Michael’s outlook and health has improved ten-fold.  I hate to think where we might be had that Angel not come into our life when she did!

Thank you for all you have done for us!

Sincerely,

Susan
